Staying fit is probably the most talked- and written-about topic we come across. Everybody has something to say. By now, we all have fitness tips on our fingertips. But do we then lose weight? Do we make any progress towards staying fit? The answer is a sheepish 'no'. Do you know why? Because we always aim high. The goals we set for ourselves are so unrealistic, even Kareena Kapoor couldn't lose weight if she followed them.
Here we show you what's wrong in the oft-stated health tips we all swear by but are never able to follow. Read on and follow these easy as hell tips to finally get some results on that weight loss resolution.
1. Eat In Short Intervals And Never Skip Breakfast!
Your dietician might tell you that you need to drop the fancy and appealing food from your favorite hangout joints, and get to the simple meal you have always thought was not for you. The food you should be eating consists of raw, green, boiled, steamed with less oil and lesser spices.
While all this is true, let's give you a more balanced and realistic approach to losing weight. Eat small portions in small intervals. Once in a while, indulge in a food craving. Set yourself a limit, and reward yourself at the end of it. You can have noodles, and parathas, and whatever you like, as long as you eat in small portions.
2. Get Proper Sleep
Make a proper sleep cycle for everyday and ensure you follow it. If you are under 40 years of age, then 6 hours of sleep ienough for you. If you are above 40, then a 8-hour rest is essential for you. Anything beyond that is just a bad habit and a clear waste of time.
Don't sweat over it. You are lazy? That's all right. You can't get up early morning to go for a jog. Fine! Gyms and sports are not for you. Work smart, not hard. Make it a point to go for strolls after lunch and dinner. Have an early dinner, so that you don't end up piling extra kilos. And Bam! You'd be surprised by how effective this is.
A sincere attempt at meditation for even 10 minutes on a routine is good enough to move mountains. We underestimat and neglect the importance of meditation in our daily lives. A calm mind will not be given to binge-eating and fat accumulation. It'll keep you at peace with yourself, thereby, helping your body to regulate your metabolism effectively.
Life is all about routine, the fittest of the fit didn't become the same over night. Ever wondered how our ancestors were always so fit even without gyms and heavy workouts? True, they did not have burgers in those days. But what kept them fit was routine. A daily routine helps your body keep up with stress. A single stroll a day might not help at all, but if done for 2 months, it'll definitely show results.
6. Set Short Targets
You are bound to lose motivation if you decide to lose 10 kilos in 2 months. Take baby steps, tiger! Set yourself realistic goals. Start with a couple of kilos first. Short term goals will give you the required motivation to keep going.
We know you know. But you don't know we know that you don't know that you have been ignoring the realistic part of every fitness regime. If you are confused, don't fret. Just pin up this fitness guide on your bedroom wall, and have that chocolate cake, for god's sake.
