Actor Sudeep has been in Hyderabad for the last one week, shooting for his upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual, referred to as Vijay 58. Tipped to be a fantasy adventure, the actor is pretty kicked about the film. "Of course I'm not playing the hero, but it isn't exactly a typical bad guy role. It's a beautifully crafted role in this out-of-the-box fantasy format," he says, talking about his role. He is eagerly looking forward to working with Sridevi, whom he calls the "female version of Amitabh Bachchan."
"What can I say about her? She's been around for so long and it's a privilege to get to share screen with a performer of her caliber. I had the good fortune of working with Amitabh Bachchan earlier, and Sridevi is the only actress who comes close to him," says the actor, who is tipped to be a part of the Surender Reddy-directed, Kick 2.
The actor though doesn't respond in the affirmative, saying, "Look, I did have a great meeting with Surender Reddy a couple of months ago. Hopefully something will materialise soon."
Meanwhile, Sudeep admits enjoying his stint on the idiot box, hosting the Kannada version of Bigg Boss. "No matter where I am, every Friday I'm off to Lonavla, Khandala to shoot for the show. It's a lot of fun. I caught up with Salman Khan a couple of days ago and had a long discussion on acting, cricket and stuff," says the actor who will be working in another Tamil-Telugu bilingual to be directed by KS Ravi Chandran.
When asked when will he be seen in a full-fledged Telugu film, Sudeep says, "Pretty soon hopefully." Meanwhile, he is reprising Pawan Kalyan's role in the Kannada remake of Attarintiki Daredi. When asked about the comparisons with the Power Star, he says, "Guess the audience will have the final say on that."
