Writer-turned-Character Artist Posani Krishna Murali expressed his anguish on the trend of Star Heroes doing not more than 1 film a year.
Speaking at the audio launch of 'James Bond', Posani said: "60% of Telugu Film Industry has been dead. Earlier, We used to make 250-odd films. Today, The number has fallen to 30 & 40 films. I have seen a lot of assistant directors, technicians, junior artists and others are begging on roads due to lack of films. The count of Heroes and Directors remained the same but there is a drastic fall in the number of films".
"Superstar Krishna used to do 11 films a year. He retired from films in a dignified manner and that too as a hero. Our heroes Srikanth, Sunil, Allari Naresh and Nani are promising artists and heroes with stamina. I personally request them to do at least 3-4 films a year so that half of the Industry folks will survive. Your calibre and market willn't decrease by doing so! This is what I wish to convey from this dais".
