Jaguar - Story
Krishna alias Jaguar (Nikhil Kumar) is an First Year MBBS Student and Junior to Arya (Adarsh Balakrishna). He falls in the love of Arya's sister Priya (Deepti Sati) at a very first look on World blind day. He wears a black mask and starts killing high profile people who involved in the medical business. He murders a judge and a police officer and make it telecast live on a TV Channel owned by Samapth Raj. The police appoints a CBI officer (Jagapathi Babu) to nab Krishna. Why is Krishna killing them? How CBI Officer will solve this case? To get these answers, one should watch the movie on the silver screen.
Jaguar - Star Performance
Nikhil Kumar who is debuting with this movie is okay. He need a lot to improve in terms of expressions he give. He looks not so handsome like what we expect a hero to look. Deepti Sati is good as Priya. She looks good. Jagapathi Babu as CBI Officer is good and he performed so well. Sampath Raj is nice. He performed as usual. Black guy who acted as senior to Krishna is humorous and funny. Adarsh Balakrishna is nice. Brahmanandam is okay. All other characters performed to their extent.
Jaguar - Technical Team
As said earlier, the film has some awesome visuals. Special mention should go to the fight composers who have canned some sleek chase sequences. Camera work is pretty good as the entire film has the feel of a top hero film. Thaman's music is just average but his background score is quite impressive. Coming to the director Mahadev, he has done an okay job with the film. He showcases the various murders and college scenes well in the first half and sets up a good second half. But he too falls for the commercial plot and takes the film down during the initial part of the second half. It is only during the last fifteen minutes that film stands back on its feet.
Jaguar - Analysis
On the whole, Jaguar has a very interesting plot which has been let down by the lack luster second half. Superb production values and some decent thrills are basic assets of this pakka commerical formula film. Now that there is heavy competition for Dussera, it would be really interesting to see how this below average action entertainer fares at the box office.
