Yesterday, popular actress turned former TDP MP and Telugu Mahila President Jaya Prada met the AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada and invited him for her adopted son Siddharth's marriage which is due on 27th November. When media asked her if she would make her comeback to TDP, Jaya Prada gave a cryptic reply which hinted a comeback.
Only a week ago, Powerstar Pawan Kalyan and legendary actor Kamal Haasan met Chandrababu at his camp office. While Pawan has his own party, Kamal joining TDP is completely ruled out. But what's drawing everyone's attention is Babu's proximity with film stars from across the country.
During the 2004 general elections, it was a major rush of Tollywood stars like D Ramanaidu, Murali Mohan, Babu Mohan that brought in all the glitz and glamour to TDP. And in 2009, the onus was on Young Tiger NTR from Tollywood, who valiantly took on the mighty Congress and earned respectable figures for the party. The burden was later carried on to the matinee idols Balakrishna and Pawan Kalyan, who brought in a whole lot of star power to the party's election campaign.
In the past too, noted Tollywood stars like Mohan Babu, Krishnam Raju, Venu Madhav, Sarada, Jayasudha, Gauthami etc campaigned for TDP and did their part in the party's growing popularity among the masses. Now, in his run up to the 2019 polls, Babu already seems to be making the starry moves to gain not just Tollywood support but also from the national stars.
