Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy and former Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy have had private meeting on Thursday in Hyderabad. The meeting itself has sparked off rumours and set tongues wagging in Telugu political fraternity. The 'secret' meeting of Kiran Kumar Reddy, who fought tooth and nail for the cause of United Andhra Pradesh, with Kishan Reddy who is a staunch voucher of Telangana formation has raised many eye brows.
In a quiet vis-a-vis, both Kiran Reddy and Kishan Reddy reportedly spoke on various things in an hour. Already rumour mill is abuzz that Kiran Reddy is looking at joining BJP. Post the poll drubbing of Kiran's Jai Samaikyandhra Party and congress in the State, there have been reports that Kiran Reddy is setting his ground to join BJP fold.
Commenting on the meeting, Kishan Reddy clarified that 'politics' were not discussed but it was only about "issues of Reddy community". They claim that they discussed on regrouping of the Reddy community both in Telangana and Seemandhra to achieve consolidation of lost ground in 2014 general elections. In fact, Kiran Kumar Reddy was reluctant initially to consider the option of joining BJP. Kiran is of the opinion that BJP "played its part" in the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. But Kiran Reddy's brothers, who are his closest advisors, have persuaded him that joining the BJP is the best option available to revive his political career. With this Kiran Reddy is pulling out all the stops to make a grand entry into BJP. Let's see how long this Chittoor politician dodge the issue.
