TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy on Thursday breathed fire at South Central Railway General Manager Ravindra Gupta in a meeting held at Rail Marriage Hall in Vijayawada. The Anantapur MP questioned what is the need of such meetings when Railway Ministry doesn't release funds, won't sanction new railway lines and complete pending projects. A heated argument took place between JC and SCR GM for sometime.
Just when rest of the AP MPs were voicing their opinion about the railway projects needed, Railway GM informed them about lack of funds. Soon, All the MPs boycotted the meeting within half-an-hour. Speaking to media, Andhra MPs told they would be giving a representation to Union Railway Minister before the Railway Budget was introduced in the Parliament.
Notably, Telangana MPs too walked out of the meeting convened by South Central Railway General Manager over insufficient allocation of funds to the state.
