On Sunday, India's pride Leander Paes won his 15th Grand Slam title. He and Martina Hingis claimed the Australian Open Mixed Doubles title by defeating French-Canadian pair Kristina Mladenovic and Daniel Nestor in straight sets.
Leander Paes won his 15th Grand Slam at the age of 41, showing age is no barrier for reaching milestones. While 8 of them have been Men's Doubles titles, 7 were Mixed Doubles titles.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all praise for the Indian Sportsman. "Leander Paes continues to make us proud! I congratulate him on the Mixed Doubles win with Martina Hingis at the Australian Open," he says.
