Andhra Pradesh Government has initiated their first step towards improvement of Air Ports and Air services in state. In part of Airport developments today, AP Government has granted Rs. 210 Crore for Rajahmundry Airport to revive and develop this Airport constructed during the British era. Rajahmundry Airport was constructed in the time British era but later on the governments have failed to develop it.
Night-landing facility at Rajahmundry airport will be available by March-end keeping in view the Godavari Pushkaralu starting in July this year. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu asked officials to focus on strengthening the existing infrastructure of airport and ordered to complete the works as soon as possible. Reports say that government is trying to increase the current existing run way size so that Air Bus can land without any disturbance during rainy season.
