TV9 news channel's CEO Ravi Prakash, who is facing a criminal case for allegedly insulting the Telangana representatives in the programmes telecast by his channel, appeared before police on Saturday evening.
He has surrendered at the LB Nagar police for questioning today.
Lawyer Janardhan Goud filed a petition against Ravi Prakash with the Cyberabad Second Metropolitan Magistrate Court on June 18 and demanded that he be arrested for broadcasting a program that is derogatory and abusive on his news channel at 8.30 pm on June 12.
Responding to the complaint, the court directed the L.B. Nagar police to file a criminal case against the channel under Sections 4A and 6 of the CTN Act (Regulation), 1995, along with Sections 504 and 505 of Indian Penal Code.
It is learnt that the police are preparing ground to arrest Ravi Prakash anytime and hence he surrendered before the police.
