Going by highly-places sources, Andhra Pradesh State government is going to nominate veteran NTR's name for Bharat Ratna. The State cabinet will be meeting on Monday (today) and going to recommend NTR's name for the highest civilian award. Apart from NTR, the state cabinet is also keen to nominate artist-director Bapu, who recently passed away, for Padma Vibhushan. Renowned radio-oncologist Dr Nori Dattatreyudu and famous gastroenterologist Dr D Nageshwar Reddy are the two others who are being considered for Padma Vibhushan.
For Padma Bhushan, the names doing the rounds are Murali Mohan, Carnatic vocalist Nedunoori Krishna Murthy and Chaganti Koteswar Rao, expert on Sanatana Dharma. Meanwhile, the likes of Kota Sreenivasa Rao, cartoonist Sridhar, social activist Satyavani and journalist I. Venkata Rao (Mahaa TV) are considered for Padma Shri.
The clear picture on the final list of names will be emerged soon after Cabinet concludes its meeting. Given that TDP-led state government has strong connections with Centre and its part of NDA, we hear that there won't be much hindrance to its nominations. If all goes well, legendary NTR will be named as Bharat Ratna, definitely a big proud moment for all Telugus, cutting across borders.
