The spectacle of 28 pairs of twins in a single frame turned out to be a real treat to students and their parents at Camford English Medium High School in Chittoor here on Twins Day on Saturday. “These twins are studying from LKG to Class X here, and it is a unique feature. It all started in the year 2006, when we identified 16 pairs of twins in the school. It prompted the management to have a special day for them, and the first Twins Day was celebrated that year," school correspondent, Mr C. Mahesh said.
Since then, the number of twins has increased by the year, and it has now touched 28, of whom 10 pairs are girls,12 pairs are boys and six pairs are boys and girls, he added. Gaiety marked the day, with all the twins arriving on the campus in colourful clothes, accompanied by their parents.
Later, they gathered at one place. They had a great time together, playing various games. The day ended on a happy note, with the management handing over gifts to them. Mr. Mahesh has a point here. “Whenever twins are born in Chittoor and surrounding areas, their parents invariably think of Camford School. It has now become more of a local sentiment," he said.
