Its known that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is residing in Vishakapatnam for the last one week to supervise the restoration and rehabilitation works of those affected by Hudhud Cyclone. Naidu made appeal to Vizag people to not to celebrate Diwali by burning firecracker. The decision was not for expressing support to the affected people but it have another valid reason.
Naidu took the decision to avoid fire accidents as Vizag city is littered with dry branches and leaves of uprooted trees in the aftermath of Cyclone Hudhud. These branches and leaves can easily catch fire;Naidu believed.
However Naidu asked the people to celebrate festival of lights in a grand manner by lighting lamps and candles inside and outside homes . Naidu appealed to the people to make generous contribution for rebuilding Visakhapatnam and bring the city, worst-hit by cyclone Hudhud, back to its 'past glory'.
