Former Andhra Pradesh Minister and senior TDP leader, Kolla Appala Naidu died at a corporation hospital in Visakhapatnam early today.
He was 86. He is survived by his wife, five daughters and a son.
The former Minister, who was born in 1928 at Kasapeta village in L.Kota mandal in Vizanagaram district, entered politics in 1948 and was elected as first sarpanch for Kasapeta.
A seven-time MLA, Mr.Naidu was unwell for some time. He died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
He had served as a minister twice in former Chief Minister, late N.T.Rama Rao's cabinet. In 1999, he was pro-tem Speaker of the State Assembly, also.
