Power is a crucial issue of discontent between AP and Telangana as most of power generation units are in AP while coal resources are in Telangana. Telagnana CM was angry with AP CM for announcing cancellation of power PPAs of power generation units there by Telangana had to look for ways to buy more power from other states.
Telangana chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao who has blamed the center and AP government for the power deficit has announced plans to add 6000 MW power generation to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the industry and also agriculture in next three years. 'AP has power but not giving to Telagnana' says Telangana Minister Harish Rao.
The power officials of Telangana government will visit Raipur on July 30 to seal the deal for procuring 2000 MW of power from Chhattisgarh to cover its power shortage to the tune of 3,000 MW. But the lack of a proper supply from Chhattisgarh had rendered evacuation of power to AP difficult till now.
