Devotees can have darshan of Sri Kalahastheeswara and goddess Gnana Prasunamba free of cost on the auspicious Maha Shivaratri day this year. The devasthanam has, for the first time, decided not to issue darshan tickets to facilitate thousands of devotees making a beeline for the temple town of Srikalahasti for darshan on the sacred occasion. The Commissioner of Endowments has also accorded consent to the proposal. Free darshan will also continue during the auspicious 'Lingodbhava' period. Hindupur MLA N. Balakrishna witnessed the Kannappa Dwajarohanam on Wednesday.
