Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala is to be closed for 10 hours owing to the lunar eclipse which falls on October 8, i.e., on Wednesday. Speaking to media persons at Tirumala on Sunday, TTD JEO K.S. Srinivasa Raju said that the Tirumala temple would be closed from 10 am to 8 pm on Wednesday on account of the lunar eclipse.
The JEO added that in view of the closure of the Tirumala temple for 10 hours, darshan would commence after the conduct of special rituals including cleansing of the Tirumala temple after 8 pm on October 8. The JEO appealed to the devotees to plan their visit in accordance with the closure timings.
Meanwhile, the JEO who inspected the queue lines at ATC in Tir-umala on Sunday obs-erved that the pilgrim crowd has increased by manifolds due to series of holidays apart from Dasara and weekends.
“Especially devotees from TN are flooding with the advent of the auspicious Purat-tasi Sanivaram. As a result all queue lines are brimming with pilgrims and the serpentine queue lines,” he said.
