Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sleuths arrested two persons, including a state government treasury employee, and seized a kilogram of heroin worth Rs one crore on Sunday.
The NCB arrested Satyanarayana, a Telangana state treasury employee from Hyderabad, and his associate Yesu from Vijayawada.
Acting on a tip-off, the NCB sleuths of Hyderabad unit apprehended the duo at LB Nagar on Sunday.
According to NCB sleuths, Yesu brought heroin from Vijayawada in a private bus and handed it over to Satyanarayana at LB Nagar.
The NCB sleuths said that the market value of the seized heroin could be over Rs one crore in the international market.
Both the accused were arrested and produced in court on Monday. They were remanded in judicial custody.
The NCB sleuths were planning to file a custody petition to question the culprits about the origin of the contraband, procurement, supply chain and the prospective customers.
